Featured Project
The Little Pink House
Located in Médina Gounass, Guédiawaye, this haven of peace is designed for children and mothers who are victims of violence. Created in partnership with Saipem, the center embodies ID+EA's commitment to social architecture and community well-being.
The building uses local materials and cross-ventilation to create spaces of comfort and healing. The terracotta tones and generous openings bring warmth and light — a physical and emotional refuge.
About
An architecture studio based in Dakar
ID+EA (Innovative Design + Engineered Architecture) is an architecture studio based in Dakar, Senegal, founded in 2015 by architect Fatiya Diene Mazza.
The studio specializes in architectural design, project coordination, and site supervision. Our work integrates the most advanced environmental technologies while drawing inspiration from Senegal's rich cultural heritage.
We use natural elements — sunlight, wind — to create energy-efficient buildings, and favor locally sourced materials to minimize environmental impact. Recognized by Wallpaper* Architects' Directory 2023.

“ID+EA has gone from strength to strength since its founding. The practice's clean lines, modern interiors and open spaces underscore a forward-thinking atmosphere.”
The Architect
Fatiya Diene Mazza

Senegalese architect, pioneer of a contemporary pan-African architecture that engages with the materials, climate, and cultural heritage of the continent.
Born in Dakar, Fatiya Diene Mazza studied architecture at Northeastern University in Boston before joining the international firm HOK in California, where she contributed to aviation and airport projects. After a stay in São Paulo, she returned to Senegal in 2015 to found ID+EA.
Her father, also an architect, passed on his passion for building. Today, she champions a vision where rammed earth, natural light, and wind replace energy-intensive solutions — preferring the term 'responsibility' to 'sustainability'.
“I am inspired by Zaha Hadid, Tadao Ando, and Jean Nouvel. My work seeks to reconcile modernity and African identity.”— Fatiya Diene Mazza
