The Dakar Institute of Art Crafts (IMAD) will provide training for artisans across Senegal and the sub-region. The building design draws inspiration from the singular trees of the surrounding savanna. A large perforated wood-leaf roof covers a village of classrooms and workshops built from compressed earth bricks.
Throughout this net-zero project, rainwater is collected, solar panels provide energy, and a windmill pumps well water.
